Why Should You Apply?

Rising sophomores, rising juniors, and rising seniors can get a head start on the college planning and application process.   â€‹

​

  • You will learn how to improve your SAT and ACT scores. 

​

  • Our professional College Access Counselor will conduct sessions that focus on how to select a college or university best suited for you and how to find financial aid to cover college expenses. 

​

  • You will develop a chart of tasks you should accomplish as you move ahead with the college application process. 

​

  • You will also be able to meet with retired professionals in such areas as medicine, biomedical research, engineering, medical device inventions, entrepreneurship, and other fields to gain information relating to what college studies may be most valuable as your consider various career options.

Who Should Apply?

EAN seeks top academic-achieving public high school rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors with GPAs of at least 3.40.   We welcome students from under resourced backgrounds, from ethnic minority populations that have endured historic patterns of discrimination, and from immigrant families. 

 

EAN students are usually among the first in their families to seek admission to colleges and universities.   We consider part time work experience and dedicated community service volunteer work as strong factors for admission criteria. 

 

Active participation in extra-curricular high school programs is also an important considerations for admission.

How Much Does  It Cost?

Emerson Academy is FREE for all students who are admitted to this summer program.  Educational materials, notebooks, etc., for the instructional sessions are also provided free.  However, the family of each student will be responsible for providing transportation to and from the Congregation facility.
